We really like to barbecue around here. Generally, we keep things simple – burgers, brats, dogs…maybe kabobs once in a while. Well, today we took our office BBQ to a whole new level!

We’ve been known to try some interesting food items, like this.  Well, Fax Guy Zack found this video online and once we saw it, we knew we HAD to try these amazing Beer Can Bacon Burgers! {although we used a Diet Coke can}.

Start with ground beef, form into cups using a can as the shaping device, wrap with bacon, fill with your favorite burger fixings and grill.

Let’s just say, we welcomed-in summer with style today! It just doesn’t get much better than this! {Notice how big that burger is next to the soda can…yep, that’s one big burger!}

Fax Dog Dahlia came to the office today too. Look at her sitting so nicely outside the kitchen. She was a great supervisor!

So our awesome team of Fax Guys and Fax Girls took a little vay-cay to Northern Minnesota to get away from the day-to-day tasks, grow as a team, celebrate our being named {For the 4th straight year! Whoo-hoo!} to the Minnesota Business Magazine “Best 100 Companies to Work For” list and RELAX! It was a great few days for our Minnesota office to connect with our out-of-state team members. We stayed at a wonderful resort, golfed, ate some amazing food, took in the scenery, played games, enjoyed bonfires & boat rides and took naps. Doesn’t that sound fun and relaxing? It was! We highly recommend it!

We are not afraid to mix a little fun in with our work. It’s good for everyone!

One thing we all kept commenting on during our stay was the friendliness of the entire resort staff. From the college kid pulling weeds to the guy refreshing our firewood, to the dining service staff to the crazy-fun bartender Laura. They all were SO extremely Minnesota-nice! Why was that so shocking and noticeable? Well, for starters, it’s rare these days to get a smile or eye contact from anyone. Looking up from a phone or from pulling weeds, just doesn’t seem to happen as often as it should. It’s the little things that really can make a company stand out. Yes, these folks are in the hospitality biz, but they clearly “get it”, they practice what they preach and it made an impression on all of us. Taking 10 seconds, to stop what you’re doing, smile and say hello is all it takes. We strive to make that kind of impression on our customers and friends. It’s a win-win. We hope we make you feel the way we felt at that resort.

Going the extra mile is good for all of us.

Raise your hand if you remember the day caller ID was rolled out to the general public as a separate box that lived next to your phone?  Weird. Well, your phone probably had a cord back then too! Wow…major game-changer for those who didn’t want to get stuck answering those unexpected calls. And that folks, was the birth of: call screening.

Why are we still using fax as a technology?
Fax is not going anywhere until another technology comes along that is as secure and reliable {or until the government relaxes data privacy laws — which is unlikely}. Fax is a global business communication tool {almost every business still faxes}. There are over 100 million fax machines still in use.  Faxes have an audit trail {think confirmed message receipt},  you know it got to where your intended recipient.

Isn’t email sufficient?
Email is sent over the internet and can easily be hacked and data can be compromised. RightFax sends and receives documents using your telephone connection or the cloud to connect to the outside world thus delivering them electronically and securely {point-to-point transmission}. Have you ever found an important email in your junk/SPAM folder? What if that was an order from a customer or doctors’ orders? It’s painful just to imagine!

Why can’t I just use a fax machine?
Because it is 2015! Fax machines are great for small home-based businesses, but a fax server is needed when your organization relies on enterprise-grade technology {likely 100 plus employees and lots of fax pages per month}. Fax machines are expensive {toner, paper, maintenance, frustrations like paper jams = “no bueno” as our boss would say}

Is it one-size-fits-all?

Image quality wouldn’t be so important if you weren’t sending…well, images! Geesh! Of course you want your faxes to look as good on the other end as they do before you push send. The same is true for those coming in. If you can’t decipher what the fax says or what the image is, it really is no good to you. What if you can’t read an incoming order? Did that property plat map show up looking more like a child’s drawing? You don’t have time and you can’t afford to just wing-it. A little tweaking in RightFax Fax Viewer is just what you need.
