Recently we have had a few inquires relating to using RightFax with etherFAX and we wanted to address this as others may have similar questions. Unfortunately using etherFAX with RightFax is not allowed and is in a violation of the RightFax support terms. See below:
OpenText would like to clarify its position of the support of the 3rd party add-on etherFAX when used with OpenText RightFax fax server solution.
OpenText does not support etherFAX on any version of RightFax fax server. Customers who contact OpenText for Technical Support may be asked to remove all etherFAX components from their RightFax system, to the extent that it is technically necessary, prior to any diagnostic activities being performed by OpenText personnel. This applies to all issues and is not limited just to those involving fax transmission.
In addition, OpenText would like to make customers aware that the installation of etherFAX components on their RightFax system may interfere with the ability to properly understand and diagnose technical issues and apply OpenText supplied maintenance, and may cause difficulties when upgrading RightFax to a newer version.
Customers who require secure, scalable and supported hybrid faxing solutions are encouraged to investigate OpenText RightFax Connect, which provides cloud-based communication for RightFax servers.
